Over the last ten years, Reuben Heaton has sponsored many angling events across the UK and Europe where fish measures rather than weigh scales have been the preferred method of recording results.
During that time, the company has manufactured and supplied various fish measure designs to suit the rigorous requirements of the competition arena, all designed and developed at its UK factory in the Midlands.
The new 2023 FM measures are based on actual competition designs being manufactured by the company for the current angling competition circuit, with materials road tested during extensive trails, and design and development carried out in conjunction with event organisers.
The result of this development is a range of British made fully calibrated competition level fish measures that will be available commercially for anglers to purchase via retailers for the first time. The new 2023 FM measures are backed by same warranty and after sales service as our world renowned scales and weighing accessories.

FM Competition Level Fish Measures – Design Specification
Each batch of printed FM measures is checked using traceable calibrated measuring equipment ensuring an accuracy greater than 1 part in 500 (approximately 0.1% of range).
Measures are manufactured from durable reinforced non-stretch Vinyl which is printed with high contrast UV stable inks that give the correct type of high visibility print design and colour tone to maximise readability and help prevent parallax error.
The overall print design and Pantone colours have been developed to maximise contrast for competition adjudication and app use where photography using mobile phones, in all weather and light conditions, is the main method of recording fish capture.
The larger 50mm high head end and witness zero line aid judgement of fish position and fish head contact identification. A positioning guide for correct fish position appears on all measures in the range, and all graduation designs are compatible with the standard European left to right competition format.
All FM measures are manufactured using wipe clean non-absorbent materials. Both measure and head end surfaces are manufactured for ease of maintenance and prevention of disease transfer.
Developed in conjunction with event organisers and event app designers and ratified by numerous events both National and International. All FM roll up measures feature integral shock cord lanyards for measure retention and ease of stowage.
Selected FM measures are available in an adhesive format. Fully laminated, UV stable and made from non-stretch non-absorbent material backed with waterproof adhesive. FM adhesive measures are adaptable for most measuring board and unhooking mat applications as well as other individual build applications.
All FM measures are covered by Reuben Heaton's product warranty, support, and after sales service. Recyclable materials have been used where possible in construction and packaging.
